The Millers grabbed a win, 6-3, at Target Field, overcoming a fine effort from Carolina pitcher Tarik Skubal. Skubal went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Justin Martinez earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. His record is now 2-1. Minnesota is now 19-17, while Carolina is 18-18.

The United States-born Zach Neto came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the seventh, with the bases loaded and the Millers trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run single to right to put Minnesota on top.

Minnesota manager Pierre Duschesnau praised his team's "energy."
