Bombers Slap 7-5 Loss on Minnesota
|
The Bronx Bombers stopped the Minnesota Millers, 7-5, at Target Field. The Bombers got a big game from Tyler O'Neill, who went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. Bowden Francis got the win, improving to 2-2. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 5 hits and 5 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 4. After today's action, Bronx sits at 15-21, while Minnesota falls to 18-18.
Bronx used the timely hitting of John Rave to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Bombers on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Rave, "and then get after it again."
