The Oakland Roses beat the Anaheim Diamonds, 4-3. Oakland pitcher and Rock Falls, Illinois, native Jakob Junis led the way. Oakland pitcher Yency Almonte got the win, upping his record to 2-0. David Bednar got the loss. Oakland is now 16-20. Anaheim is 14-22.
Wyatt Langford, who is rated as the 3rd best prospect by BNN, had a direct impact on the outcome. Langford contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put Oakland up, 4-3.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Junis said.
