Seattle Extends Series Lead in Low-Scoring Affair
The Seattle Sting moved to within one game of the Round 3, downing the Carolina Riptides on the road at IBM Field by a score of 3-1. Sting right-hander Jose Soriano had a strong outing. He threw 6.0 innings allowing 1 run. The win gives the Sting a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 Round 2.

Seattle used a clutch at-bat from Junior Caminero to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Sting ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"I went out and just tried to do my job," said Soriano.

Game 3 is scheduled for Saturday at Boeing Field in Seattle.
