Houston first baseman Sal Stewart pounded Philadelphia Phalanx pitchers at Citizens Bank Park, but it was not enough to keep the Titans from falling, 9-8. Stewart belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Carmen Mlodzinski, credited with the win in relief, is now 2-0. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. David Robertson was credited with the save for Philadelphia, his 1st of the season.

Munetaka Murakami, who is tied for 8th in the FL in home runs with 9, helped out the Philadelphia cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a 2-run single. For the game, the first baseman was 1-4 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI.

Phalanx manager Stephen Esterhazy wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."

Philadelphia is now 16-21, while Houston is 22-15.
