Round 2 Game 1 Victory for May and San Francisco
|
The San Francisco Dragons started the Round 2 in style, downing the visiting Boston Minutemen at Pac Bell Park by a score of 9-1 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Dragons right-hander Dustin May threw 5.2 innings of 1-hit ball.
In the bottom of the eighth, San Francisco center fielder Harrison Bader had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Bader stroked a bases-clearing double to left. It made the score 9-1, San Francisco. For the game, he was 1-4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs.
"They just got us," said Boston manager Tony Byrne, "and that's all I can say."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Pac Bell Park in San Francisco.
