Blitzed by Acuna Jr., Dragons, Minutemen Sink Further in R2
|
The San Francisco Dragons moved to within one game of the Round 3, downing the visiting Boston Minutemen at Pac Bell Park by a score of 10-7. Dragons right fielder Ronald Acuna Jr. did some major damage. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The win gives the Dragons a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 Round 2.
San Francisco left fielder Riley Greene helped the Dragons go up, 8-7, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Greene hit a run-scoring single off Boston pitcher Jose Leclerc.
"There was a kid in the stands with a sign that said 'San Francisco Dragons (probably) 2025 Round 4 Champions'," Greene told reporters after the game. "I told him, 'Premature, but I like the confidence.'"
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Fenway Park in Boston.
