Home Loss Shrinks Roses Series Lead to 2-1
|
The Seattle Sting have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Oakland Roses, winning, 10-5, at Fan's Ballyard. Sting first baseman Jonathan Aranda was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times. The win cuts the deficit facing the Sting to 2-1 in the best-of-7 Round 3.
Seattle used a well-timed hit by Jose Trevino to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Sting ahead, 4-3. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Aranda, "and then get after it again."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Fan's Ballyard in Oakland.
