Almost There: Oakland On Cusp of R3 Triumph After 4-2 Win
The Oakland Roses moved to within one game of the Round 4, downing the visiting Seattle Sting at Fan's Ballyard by a score of 4-2. Roses left-hander Steve Matz had a strong outing in which he threw 7.2 innings of 6-hit ball. The win gives the Roses a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Round 3.

With two out in the bottom of the second, Nathaniel Lowe barreled up a slider from Gavin Williams. The result was a 2-run home run, putting the Roses in front, 4-0.

Matz called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Fan's Ballyard in Oakland.
