Abreu Slugs Stars to 7-6 Win
The Cincinnati Stars defeated the Bronx Bombers, 7-6, at Great American Ball Park. Leading the charge for Cincinnati was first baseman Jose Abreu. He was 3-5 with 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4. The win went to R.J. Dabovich in relief. His record improves to 6-6. Josh Dye took the loss. The Stars raised their record to 54-92.

Abreu had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 2-2 changeup from Josh Dye, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Stars a 7-6 lead. It was the 24th home run of the year for Abreu.

"We're a talented bunch when we're playing well," said Abreu. "I think we showed that here."
