The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of St Louis fans at Busch Stadium.

St Louis beat Montreal on the strength of starting pitcher Freddy Peralta's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-2. The 4th-place Sluggers have won 4 consecutive games.

Had Taylor Ward not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Ward hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Sluggers.

"It's so much easier when you throw good pitches," said Peralta.
