Cincinnati got a decent performance from pitcher Max Scherzer, but it wasn't enough to beat the Minnesota Millers. Minnesota won the Great American Ball Park contest, 6-4. Scherzer threw 7.2 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Minnesota reliever Jeff Hoffman picked up the win, upping his record to 7-4. Tylor Megill was saddled with the loss. The win elevated the Millers to 85-65.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Juan Yepez? The 26-year old first baseman Yepez stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Minnesota up, 5-4. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.

Minnesota manager Pierre Duschesnau commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
