Texas registered a win at Sony Park by beating the Toronto Hogs, 6-3. Pitcher Yu Darvish was one reason why the Vipers triumphed. Emmanuel Clase closed it out for Texas, earning his 8th save. By defeating Toronto, the 4th-place Vipers improved to 18-22.

Texas used a well-timed hit by Yandy Diaz to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Vipers ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"When you are able to locate the ball, good things are going to happen," said Darvish.
