Titans Deal Anaheim 7-4 Defeat
|
The Houston Titans defeated the Anaheim Diamonds, 7-4, in part because of left fielder Brandon Nimmo. Nimmo was 3-4 with a triple and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Titans. Dane Dunning picked up the win with 5 innings of work. He allowed 2 runs on 3 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 4-1. Earning his 7th save of the year was Orion Kerkering.
There was more than one reason the Titans beat the Diamonds, but Nimmo's big at-bat in the bottom of the third was an important factor. He staked his team to a 3-2 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Nimmo said after the game.
Houston is now 26-14, Anaheim 15-25.
