Carolina Topples Minnesota, 5-2
|
Carolina Riptides starter Tarik Skubal turned in a top-notch performance against the Minnesota Millers at IBM Field. The result was a win for the Riptides, 5-2. Skubal picked up the win for Carolina, going 5.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 6-2. Carolina has run its win streak to 4 in a row.
The Riptides got a big at-bat from left fielder Wilyer Abreu. For the game, Abreu was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Carolina a 3-1 lead.
