Cincinnati catcher Francisco Alvarez helped his team beat the Pittsburgh Ironmen, 4-3. Alvarez, who is on pace to hit 42 home runs this season, went 3 for 4 for the Stars. The Stars raised their record to 16-26.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Mark Vientos? The 25-year old first baseman Vientos stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put Cincinnati up, 4-3. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
