The Carolina Riptides extended their winning streak.
The Carolina Riptides handed the Los Angeles Spirit a loss at Nike Field. The final score was 6-2. Logan O'Hoppe was one of the major contributors for Carolina. In addition to his 1 single and 1 home run, he scored 1 run and drove in 2. Clayton Kershaw got credit for the win, improving to 4-1. He allowed 2 runs on 8 hits in 5.2 innings.
Juan Soto, who finished 4th in the UL in runs with 117 in 2020, helped out the Carolina cause in the top of the third inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the right fielder went 1 for 4 with a walk.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Soto, "one at-bat at a time."
Carolina is now 26-17, 3 games up in the Union League Eastern Division.
