The Carolina Riptides polished off the Cincinnati Stars by the score of 8-3. The largest share of the credit belonged to third baseman Brett Baty. Baty belted 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for the Riptides. The victory gives Carolina a record of 85-68.

The game turned with two out in the top of the fourth. That's when Baty hit a 3-run home run off Daulton Jefferies. It propelled the Riptides into the lead, 4-1.
