Bombers Drop Sharks, 2-1
|
In a low-scoring game between the Bronx Bombers and the New York Sharks, pitcher Michael Wacha was masterful on the mound. The Bronx right-hander spearheaded his team's 2-1 win. New York has now lost 4 consecutive games.
The Bombers got a big at-bat from designated hitter Josh Bell. For the game, Bell was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 18th home run of the season gave Bronx a 2-0 lead.
"I think every team will tell you that the pitching sets the tone, especially the starters," said Bronx skipper Jeremiah Coggins.
