Bandits Drop 5-1 Decision
|
Freddie Freeman was a major factor in the 5-1 Boston win over Tampa Bay. The Minutemen first baseman went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times. The win went to Hunter Gaddis in relief. His record improves to 4-6. Cade Cavalli took the loss. Raisel Iglesias earned his 27th save in 32 chances.
Alex Call had a big solo home run for the Minutemen in the bottom of the third inning. With Boston leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Cade Cavalli and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Minutemen on top, 2-0.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Call.
Boston now has a record of 81-73 with the win.
