Ozuna Hits 2 home runs in Sluggers Win
|
The St Louis Sluggers defeated the Boston Minutemen, 8-2, in Federal action at Fenway Park. Marcell Ozuna pulled his weight. The 13-year veteran went 4 for 5 with 2 home runs and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Cristopher Sanchez, the winning pitcher, improved to 8-8. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 4 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 1. With the win, St Louis upped its record to 79-79.
With St Louis leading 3-0 in the top of the second, Ozuna hit a curveball from Hunter Brown for a 2-run home run. It was his 25th home run of the season and put the Sluggers ahead, 5-0.
"We didn't help ourselves, it's as simple as that," said losing manager Tony Byrne.
