Bears Stumble, Lose to Bandits
|
The 8-3 Tampa Bay win over Denver was due in large part to Dylan Moore. The Bandits third baseman was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Joe Kelly was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 7 of 13 save opportunities. Tampa Bay goes to 102-57. The win puts them 20½ games up in their division.
J.T. Realmuto had a big 2-run double for the Bandits in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Tampa Bay leading 3-2 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a sinker from 34-year old left-handed pitcher Tim Hill and swatted a double to center. It was his 33rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Bandits ahead, 5-2.
Realmuto attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
