Vipers Upend Sting, 6-2
Texas Vipers starter Andrew Heaney kept the Seattle Sting hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-2 win. Texas raised its record to 88-72 with the win.

Brent Rooker had a big 3-run home run for the Vipers in the top of the fifth inning. With Texas leading 3-2 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he sized up a cutter from 34-year old right-handed pitcher Nick Martinez and punished it. The result was his 6th home run of the season, which put the Vipers on top, 6-2.

"I like our moxie," said Vipers manager Pete Seto.
