Tampa Bay-Minnesota Brawl, Alvarez and Holmes Suspended Sunday, June 29th , 2025 If there wasn't a history between Yordan Alvarez of Tampa Bay and Clay Holmes of Minnesota, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 3 and 6 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today. "We're both really competitive," Alvarez said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it." A look at his current stats shows Alvarez with a .288 average, 21 home runs, 56 RBIs and 53 runs scored. He has played in 79 games. In 16 starts this year, Holmes has fashioned a 4-4 record and a 5.68 ERA. |
