UL's Best Player Named Monday, July 7th , 2025 J.D. Martinez of the Chicago Explorers might have lost a step over the years, but the 37-year-old designated hitter can still get it done. He beat out several other worthy Union League hitters over this past week to claim the Player of the Week Award. Martinez posted a .538 batting average with 3 home runs and 6 RBIs last week while scoring 4 runs. For the week he was 7 for 13. So far this season, Martinez has gotten 61 hits in 245 at-bats for a .249 batting average with 11 home runs. His stats include 37 RBIs and 33 runs scored. He has played in 68 games. |
