De La Cruz Receives July Rookie Award Friday, August 1st , 2025 When it came to hitting the baseball, Elly De La Cruz had few peers in the Union League last month. The gifted shortstop for Toronto tagged opposing pitchers for a .333 average and was voted the Rookie of the Month for July. Included in his stats were 33 hits, 8 homers, 17 runs scored and 30 RBIs.
