Ironmen Send Matthews to Carolina Friday, August 1st , 2025 Everybody is overjoyed with a trade consummated today by the Pittsburgh Ironmen and the Carolina Riptides. In the deal Pittsburgh got 27-year old SS Bo Bichette from Carolina and dealt 23-year old minor league 2B Brice Matthews and 19-year old SS Starlyn Caba to the Riptides. The general managers that made the swap are happy and the players are happy, too. One of the GMs commented, "This was a good swap for all concerned." For the season, Bichette has hit .286 with 6 home runs and 36 RBIs. He has played in 99 games and scored 56 times. |
