Carolina-Philadelphia Brawl, Williams and Topa Suspended

After an intense confrontation, both the Riptides Carson Williams and the Phalanx Justin Topa were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Carolina-Philadelphia game. Carson Williams will miss 6 games, while Justin Topa was suspended for 12 games.
"Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Carson Williams commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play."
This season, Williams has hit at a .225 clip with 9 RBIs, 4 home runs and 8 runs scored.
Topa has pitched 57 innings and molded a 4.42 ERA with no saves. He has surrendered 64 hits while registering 48 strikeouts on his way to a 1-3 record for the Phalanx this year.
