Thrice Is Nice: Wallner Unloads 3 Homers Tuesday, September 30th , 2025 New York Sharks right fielder Matt Wallner put on a dazzling display of power at Shark Stadium against the St Louis Sluggers. In the 6-2 Sharks victory, Wallner penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts. "He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," St Louis manager John Hawkins said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well." Along with his three home runs, the 27-year-old had 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Wallner said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today."
