Tampa Bay Takes Round 2 in Deciding Game
Tuesday, October 14th , 2025
Continental Baseball Association pundits who figured the Round 2 between the Tampa Bay Bandits and Montreal PoorBoys would go the distance were right on the mark.
The two teams battled back and forth in a spirited series, with Tampa Bay coming out on top thanks to a 5-4 win in the deciding game at Tony Gwynn Memorial Field, to wrap things up 3-2.
"You get to the last game and anything can happen, so we're overjoyed to come out on top," said Bandits left fielder Lars Nootbaar, who was named series MVP.
For the series, Nootbaar had 7 hits for a .438 average. He had 1 home runs, 3 RBI and scored 3 runs.
The Tampa Bay Bandits don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Boston Minutemen - San Francisco Dragons series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The Round 3 schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes.
