Carolina, Cincinnati Execute Trade Tuesday, March 24th , 2026 You can't always get what you want, but sometimes you find a deal anyway. The Baseball News Network is reporting that Carolina and Cincinnati have made a swap with 29-year old RHP Alexis Diaz being shipped to the Stars and in return the Riptides would get 24-year old minor league RHP Brett Banks. Carolina general manager Rob Hansen said the two sides were close to a blockbuster trade before agreeing upon a smaller scale transaction. "This is just a bit of housekeeping compared to what we wanted to do," he said. "I won't name names, but the potential deal we were close to making would have certainly grabbed some headlines." A source inside the Carolina organization said the two sides might not be done dealing, and another transaction could be in the works. For his career, Diaz has 2 wins and 2 losses with 0 saves. His ERA stands at 4.41 and he has fired third strikes past 66 batters in 63.1 innings while giving up 27 walks. |
