Moncada Wins UL Player of the Week Honors Monday, May 5th , 2025 New York fans have something to crow about today as New York third baseman Yoan Moncada nabbed the Union League Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Moncada. He posted a .542 average (13-for-24) this past week with 2 home runs, 6 RBIs, and 6 runs scored. For the season, Moncada is batting .366 with 30 hits and 2 home runs. He has scored 14 times and batted in 11. |
