Big 3-HR Day for Henderson
Thursday, September 24th , 2026
Montreal PoorBoys shortstop Gunnar Henderson put on a dazzling display of power at Chrysler Canyon against the Portland Jaguars. In the 7-6 PoorBoys victory, Henderson penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts.
"He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Portland manager Darren Meserve said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well."
Along with his three home runs, the 25-year-old had 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Henderson said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today."
Gunnar Henderson hit a solo-shot off Walker Buehler in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Walker Buehler in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Walker Buehler in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and struck out in the 9th.
This season, Henderson is hitting .247 with 129 hits, 30 home runs, 76 RBIs, scored 83 runs and played in 138 games.
