Seattle, New York Execute Trade Sunday, June 1st , 2025 It took some time to iron out the details, but the Sting and Sharks have agreed to a swap. New York will get 37-year old LHP Aroldis Chapman with Seattle receiving 19-year old minor league C Axiel Plaz and 21-year old minor league SS Cristian Hernandez in return. A source close to the trade talks said the two clubs were initially looking to make a bigger deal, but discussions broke off late last night. The two sides reconvened early today and eventually settled on this deal. Chapman has gone to the hill for 26 relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 0-1 record with a 5.48 ERA. The Binghamton reliever has limited opposing batters to a .261 batting average. |
