Rave Socks It to Houston 3 Times
Saturday, June 14th , 2025
His swing was a thing of beauty. Three times John Rave swung the bat and three times he delivered a home run. It was an awesome sight to behold at Magnum Stadium, but to no avail, for as good as he was, the Houston Titans were better.
The Bronx Bombers couldn't capitalize on the big game from Rave and dropped the contest, 12-9.
The mood in the Bombers clubhouse afterward was subdued, with several players remarking that they had allowed the Titans to spoil the day for Rave.
"Some of the boys are beating themselves up about it," Bronx manager Jeremiah Coggins said. "They know we win as a team and lose as a team, but it's hard to really put that idea into practice on a day when one of you was playing on such an obviously higher level."
In addition to the homers, Rave collected 7 RBIs and scored 3 runs.
"I got three pitches down the pipe and popped them," the Bronx center fielder told reporters. "Today I was in a groove. Tomorrow I could just pop the same pitches up and go 0-for-3."
John Rave doubled in the 1st, flied out in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Dane Dunning in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Alex Lange in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Triston McKenzie in the 9th.
This year, Rave is hitting .258 with 8 home runs and 30 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .298 clip and scored 30 runs.
