Cincinnati center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong could do no wrong in his team's 16-1 win over the Phalanx, as he collected 5 hits.
"Things were in his favor in every one of his at-bats," Phalanx skipper Stephen Esterhazy said to the press corps after the game. "He got hitters' counts."
Crow-Armstrong agreed, saying that getting ahead early in the counts was "the key" to his game.
"Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit," he said. "You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready."
Pete Crow-Armstrong singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Evan Sisk in the 5th, struck out in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Carmen Mlodzinski in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Mike Yastrzemski in the 8th.

Crow-Armstrong Parks 3 for Cincinnati

Pete Crow-Armstrong was sending souvenirs to the sun gods all game long in the 16-1 Cincinnati Stars triumph at Citizens Bank Park.
The 24-year-old put on a show for fans, launching not one, not two, but three home runs into the stands and powering the Stars past the Philadelphia Phalanx.
"One homer's good, two's great, three's out of sight," Crow-Armstrong told BNN reporters after the game. "I can't wait until next game. I really feel good at the plate."
The center fielder went 5-for-6, rung up 6 RBIs and scored 3 runs on his record-setting day.

Bronx's Soto to Miss 2 Weeks

Juan Soto of the Bronx Bombers was injured in today's game against Chicago and had to be helped off the field by the trainers. The initial diagnosis is a strained back muscle, and he is expected to be out for up to 2 weeks. It happened while Soto was running the bases. "It hurt a lot, to be honest. I just hope it heals soon and I can get back on the field."
Soto is hitting .299 for the season with 7 home runs, 18 RBIs and 20 runs scored. He has 32 hits in 107 at-bats and played in 30 games.
