Firebirds Advance to CBA League Series Monday, October 16th , 2023 The CBA Division Series may not have lived up to the expectation that it would be a dogfight that would go the distance. The Phoenix Firebirds, however, are not complaining. The Firebirds were plenty happy to have wrapped up the series early and to have knocked out the St Louis Sluggers to advance to the CBA League Series. Phoenix won the final game by a 6-5 count at Busch Stadium and the series 3-1. Firebirds shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. was named series MVP, as he hit .294 with a .333 on-base percentage. He added 1 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 2 runs. "It's not going to be the last time St Louis makes it to the playoffs, so it's sure a nice feeling to put them out this year," Tatis Jr. said. "We just need to keep this going and take it day by day." The CBA League Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the CBA Division Series finishes.
