Super Swinger -- Eike Slams 5 Hits

Today at Ballpark of Kingston, Brandon Eike put on an impressive display.
The Lynchburg Scouts third baseman tagged Kingston pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats, but his teammates were unable to capitalize on the spree and lost the game to the Kingston Buccaneers by the score of 9-6.
"The loss takes some of the joy out of it, but I'll take it," Eike said. "5-for-6 ain't bad in any league."
Despite the terrific performance, the Scouts manager was unwilling to offer the third baseman much praise, saying the "whole roster" is held accountable for losses.
"Brandon told me 'Coach, I had 5 hits' and I said 'Well that's great, but it looks like we needed one more from you,'" manager said.
Brandon Eike struck out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
Eike is currently hitting .318 with 7 home runsand 20 RBIs, while scoring 26 runs.
