Joshua Mears exploded for a barrage of base hits at Rangers Ballpark.

The Salinas right fielder had a field day in his team's 13-3 triumph over the Omaha Rangers, finishing 5-for-6.

"My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch."

Mears must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Joshua Mears doubled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and singled in the 9th.

Mears is batting .387 this year with 4 home runs, 11 RBIs and 6 runs scored. He has 12 hits in 31 at-bats.
