Ironmen Suffer 6-4 Home Defeat
|
The Pittsburgh Ironmen could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Hunter Greene into a win. Instead, the St Louis Sluggers prevailed, 6-4. Greene threw 5.2 innings of 1-hit ball. Yimi Garcia was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Kevin Kelly. St Louis is now 35-36. Pittsburgh is 35-36.
Will Wagner delivered a big hit for St Louis. The first baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Sluggers ahead, 6-4. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Wagner.
