Jakob Junis of the Sacramento A's spun his magic on the Portland Blaze. He blanked them, 6-0, on 6 hits, registering 7 strikeouts and 1 walk.

"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Junis said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."

Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Sacramento skipper said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations."

"Jakob pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said.

Junis has gone 6-8 this season with an ERA of 4.71 and 91 strikeouts in 137.2 innings pitched. Other clubs are hitting .292 against him.
