Seattle Stopped, 5-1, by Portland
|
The Portland Jaguars beat the Seattle Sting, 5-1, at Boeing Field. Starting pitcher Tanner Gordon was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Hagen Danner recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 2 for 2. Today's win puts Portland at 70-64, while Seattle falls to 79-55.
The Jaguars got a big at-bat from second baseman Jose Fermin. For the game, Fermin went 1-1 with a triple. In the top of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Portland a 1-0 lead.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Jaguars manager Darren Meserve, "I like our chances."
