Basabe Socks It to Thorns, Cracks 5 Hits
It was a sensational day at the plate for Osleivis Basabe as he led the charge to a nifty 21-5 win over the Thorns. The Midland shortstop was pure misery for the San Jose pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 6 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.

"Basabe put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said , manager for the Thorns, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."

Osleivis Basabe struck out in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Garrett Hawkins in the 7th, hit a two-run home run off Matt Vogel in the 7th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Randy Dobnak in the 8th and hit a two-run double in the 9th.
