Firebirds Lose at Home, 7-2
|
The San Francisco Dragons defeated the Phoenix Firebirds, 7-2, in part because of center fielder Harrison Bader. Bader was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Dragons. Dustin May earned the win for San Francisco. He lasted 5.1 innings, allowing no runs on 4 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 1-0. Phoenix drops to 2-1.
The Dragons got a big at-bat from third baseman Jose Ramirez. For the game, Ramirez went 1 for 4 with a double. In the top of the first, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 4th double of the season gave San Francisco a 1-0 lead.
"We put our best foot forward tonight," said a smiling Ramirez.
