It was a big day for Lazaro Montes and he brought the San Mateo Bloom along for the ride.

Montes led his club to victory, 14-11, over the Merced Marines at Bloom Ballpark, smoking Merced pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. The 20-year-old right fielder later called the victory "sweet."
