Maitan Tags Pacifics for 5 Hits
It was a sensational day at the plate for Lancaster Jets third baseman Kevin Maitan, but a tough one for the team, as the Jets dropped the contest, 9-6, to the Mountain View Pacifics.

Even with the loss, Maitan was pure misery for the Mountain View pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked after going 5-for-5 in an explosive display of hitting.

"It's always good to get a bunch of hits in a game, but you also want to win," said Maitan, who is the 25-year old third baseman .

"Maitan really hit the ball hard and when you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage," Pacifics manager told BNN reporters after the game. "I feel like we threw him some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."

Kevin Maitan hit a GRAND SLAM off Kade Morris in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

In 54 games this season, Maitan has compiled a .338 batting average with 71 hits and 13 home runs. He has also scored 46 times and knocked in 50 runs.
