Even as a kid, Quincy McAfee said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Columbus Grounds, McAfee showed how well he learned that lesson.

The 28-year-old shortstop had 5 hits in 6 at-bats for the Columbus River Rats, helping his team knock off the Lexington Bluegrass by a score of 17-6.

"They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did."

Quincy McAfee doubled in the 2nd, hit a three-run double in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Douglas Orellana in the 5th, singled in the 7th and flied out in the 7th.
