Reading Advances to Round 2
The fans in Reading are delirious, while there is little joy to be found in Harrisburg.

The Reading Roughnecks finished off the Harrisburg Senators 4-3 in the deciding game of the Round 1 played at Ironmen Ballpark.

They took the series 3-2 and will now head to the Round 2.

For his standout play, Reading first baseman Ernesto Martinez was voted the series' Most Valuable Player.

He batted .429, drove in 8 runs and scored 6 to lead his club to victory.

"We could never really figure out how to pitch to Martinez and that doomed us," said Senators manager . "Hats off to Reading, though. That was a great series."

The Reading Roughnecks will play against the Madison Millers in the next round. Madison won their series against the Plattsburgh Beacons 3 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
