The Merced Marines took time to celebrate with the Merced fans who stuck around after the game, following the team's Round 1 triumph over the San Mateo Bloom.

Members of the Marines hung around chatting, high-fiving and taking pictures with the Merced fans in attendance at Bloom Ballpark, long after the last pitch had been thrown in their 7-4 win to seal the series 3-1.

"We've got great fan support," said catcher Julian Leon. "Whether we're at home or on the road, the fans support us. So we wanted to show them how important that is to us. Some San Mateo fans that were there even congratulated us on the win."

For the series, Leon hit .500 with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, 2 RBI and scored 2 runs.

Things weren't so cordial on the Bloom side of things. Their clubhouse was closed to media after the game and all players and coaches quickly dressed and left the stadium after the end to their season.

The Merced Marines don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Malibu Stars - San Bernadino 66ers series. Malibu leads the series 2 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
