Lancaster Takes Round 1
The Lancaster Jets triumphed 4-3 over the Merced Marines at Lancaster Grounds in the Round 1 to capture it 3-1.

The victory advanced the Jets to the Round 2.

For his superb play in the series, Jets second baseman Jeral Perez garnered the series MVP trophy, hitting .533, scoring 3 runs and batting in 2.

"Only thing better than getting MVP for winning in the playoffs would be winning MVP for winning in the Round 2," Perez said later. "I'll get to work on that."

The Lancaster Jets don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the San Bernadino 66ers - San Mateo Bloom series. San Mateo leads the series 2 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
